So, after about five days of thinking about the sock that was about half an inch I did this:

Frogged!

And then started back in again and measured more carefully this time.

Looking Better!

Whew! Done!

So . . . I thought I was doing great.  I had no problems with the second foot, all the way through the toe.

All done!  And . . . then I compared them, and tried them on . . . can you see the problem?

Crap! One is about a half-inch shorter than the other.

So, I decided to leave it.  I only plan on wearing them to bed anyway. . . or so I thought . . .

This is my favorite part.  Partly because it is short, but mostly because it is such a change from the straight stockinette.

I made quick progress on sock #1 and then soon cast on for the match . . . then I came back from the UK after the new year and tabled the project, picking it up occasionally, but only finishing recently.  But not without a critical mistake.  For now, my progress up to the beginning of the second sock.

For some reason I forgot to take any pictures between this photo and the previous one.
